Tom Wolfe

Why do we question what we are, or whom we are, amidst millions of people who are all trying to do the same thing?
We all want to be our own person, but more than that, we want to be accepted for what we are.
  Then it becomes difficult.
If we are not entirely sure who we are, or where we belong, how can we expect to be accepted.
Perhaps if we ignored expectations we would become more acceptable?
You shouldn’t have to apologize for authenticity.
