a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

perhaps there is another way
maybe, then, another day
or something else I can say . . .

Be still.
It doesn’t have to be long, just
a moment or a minute. Take
the time, a short break from
the everyday commotion and
confusion, to simply be still.
  Our minds seem to be
working all the time, many days
they redline until bedtime.
At night, at times, it seems
to take hours to calm your self
and collect your thoughts.
  Sometimes it doesn’t happen.
  It’s important then to make
time during the day to
recalibrate your mind with a
short meditative break.
Focus on a flower, or gaze
up at the clouds, soak in the
birdsong, or shut your eyes
and think of nothing else.
  In fact, don’t even think,
  Just be.
  Be still.
