a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

If you have to deny the magic,
then you are forcing yourself
to look away from all you once
believed was possible.
It was more than gravity then
that drew you to the fire, and
more than curiosity that
allowed you to be consumed.
That you are not now pure ash
is, in fact, a miracle.
So why do you turn away?
It can’t be that you are afraid
of the fire, for your brows have
been scorched and your
passion ignited.
It must be that you are afraid
of the magic, and if that be true,
how can you live with yourself?
   You are the magic.

“The past gives you an identity and the
future holds the promise of salvation,
of fulfillment in whatever form.
Both are illusions.”
