a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Time Or Dignity
Posted on July 28, 2017 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

Be your own light.
Be your own silence.
Independence
need not cost
time or dignity.
Be your own self.
Be your own way,
but don’t be afraid
of sharing your shine
or your shadow.

Drop By Drop

Gentle July rain
washes stars
from the sky.
Less to look at,
little to know.
Drop by drop
emotions flow
through the city,
beyond grey skies.
Less to question,
little to know.
Why?

As New Moon Can
Posted on July 26, 2017 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

         The night
accepts the silence,
      appreciates
     the soft, steady breath
         of lovers
        and dogs.

        New Moon
shows as no moon can.
      High resolution
     darkness softening
          hard edges
        and difficult lives,

         Here we are,
part of the silence,
      immune to
     time and temperature,
         and words
      once spoken.
