a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Confront Your Truth
Posted on January 28, 2018 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

How do you receive reality?
Will you accept what is offered,
or wait to see what else
comes along?
Truth remains impartial and
deliberate.
Know what is there, and
know why it is there.
Confront your truth.

Alternatives

If we don’t try to face our fears,
address our flaws, or seek options
and alternatives for the ways we
fumble through our lives, we are
doing little more than existing.
How can we know comfort if
we don’t push ourselves past
discomfort?
   Answers don’t appear without
questions.

Art Is Everywhere
Posted on January 26, 2018 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

We should crave art.
To acknowledge, to participate,
to breathe art in, is to
allow yourself time to be human.
If we don’t take that time,
you become just another
tax-paying citizen (or worse)
who complains about
the price of gasoline,
the foibles of government, and
the music kids listen to these days, instead of seeing
the beauty.
Art is everywhere,
and it is always there
for those who choose to look,
and those who need to have.
