a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Yesterday. Tomorrow. Today.

we want
to believe
it is not every day
though
tragedy
could be anywhere
yesterday
it was here
tomorrow
somewhere else
today
we can only
show strength
hope
there will be
change
everywhere
for everyone
peace

Mondays are just young Fridays

Place to place
across city or continent,
further perhaps.
Destinations. Obligations.
We travel as required, often
to stay where we are.
A journey.
Where we end up
is not always planned.
No place feels exactly
like home. We cannot
always remember, yet
we are reminded of
the signs. Cities, countries,
locations in between,
loved ones left behind,
or waiting. Come home.
Regardless of
where you go, no matter
the baggage,
I wish you all the best.
I wish you safe passage.

We Are Told

“And God is here, he’s everywhere, he ain’t dead, contrary to popular opinion. And he will come again and it will be the most beautiful, powerful, electric moment, the sky’s gonna go all purple and red.”
– Prince

we are told the stories
we question signs
ask of our self
ask for more time
or the timing
wrong as it may be
for spiritual awakening
or connectivity

how old the stories
a question of time
we know not the self
even less the divine
personal reflection
spiritual connection
each of us only
left an impression

we know the stories
those we are told
little evidence remains
nothing so bold
we ask for redemption
on convenient terms
know only strength
from our sins learned
