life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

When Needed

Find surety in self-expression,
mercy in your anger, and
contentment in all you have,
or have let go of.
Be calm in your intention,
recycle dangerous thoughts,
and give old ways
new meaning. Offer something
you don’t need to someone who
who could use a hand up.
Seek clarity in confusion, and
balance when needed.
Humanity is always there.

Words define you, words form
you and follow you; words provide
instruction. Words inspire, words
get you thinking, words account for
where you are and may give you
an idea where you are going.
Promises are made by words.
If you believe in the power of
the written word, you can then
believe anything.
Words tell it like it is. Remember
the promise is not in the words,
but the person holding the pencil.
Make your words powerful.

Tom Wolfe

Why do we question what we are, or whom we are, amidst millions of people who are all trying to do the same thing?
We all want to be our own person, but more than that, we want to be accepted for what we are.
  Then it becomes difficult.
If we are not entirely sure who we are, or where we belong, how can we expect to be accepted.
Perhaps if we ignored expectations we would become more acceptable?
You shouldn’t have to apologize for authenticity.
