life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Progress

Friendship takes time.
Patience takes time.
Trust takes time.

It is all about time
we don’t respect and
time we don’t expect.

Patience is a process.
Friendship is a process
Progress is a process.

Profit And Loss

If it’s only about the money,
the price will become greater
than you realize.
An expense, a necessity, of
course, but not as the dollar
relates to a sense of happiness.
Your buying power is not as
sustaining as the air you breathe,
time consumed by a lover’s smile,
or laughter of a child.
Greed is relative in an amount
you simply cannot count.
Should money become a priority,
the devil is in the debt, the wager
or the bet.
When it is only for the money,
it is only, then, a cost.
If consideration is all about the
money, the value is easily lost.

Allow Space
Posted on August 2, 2018 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

Bulky thoughts with jagged edges,
overblown ego and massive
apprehensions, joyous news bursting
at the seams, complicated issues,
grandiose dreams: not everything
happens as you think it should be,
you need to allow space
for spontaneity. Not everything
fits between the lines,
and not everything has to.
