life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Realization or rationalization,
half-truths we tell ourselves
to make it through the day.
    Where are we
emotionally when dealing with
our current reality?
Half in, half out,
fully aware of indecision,
or lack of commitment
  to an ideal
    or undertaking,
Honesty.
Aren’t we better off knowing
where we stand, or
where we could,
than trying to figure out
how we got there? Honestly.

Let It Flow

consider
thoughts
not as words
but         as ripples
flowing
reflecting
resonating
a greater body
of work
consistent
fluid
unknown in
origin
infinite
in    where
they end  or

end up

Natural State
Posted on April 25, 2019 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

Flowers remind us,
all at once, of beauty, of
fragility, and of the
colours that surround us;
even on those darker days.

Time, to a flower, is of
little consequence. Day
into night, they flourish,
until there is nothing left
but spirit and a shadow.

Life, for a flower, is shared
without compromise. We pay
little attention to how long,
until colour fades. A natural
state. All grace remains.
