a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

try to
breathe out
more than
you breathe in

try
to give more
than you
are given

try to
live more
than you
are living

try
to forgive more
than you are
forgiven

There Is Still Time

The seconds
and hours tick away.
Each day another step,
each month, each season
another opportunity or
another deadline.
Have you done
all you need to do
in the time allotted?
We are weeks away from
another year, and another
decade.
The calendar always marks
our life. Will you be ready
to turn the page?
There is still time.

The Weight
Posted on November 7, 2019 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

Do you measure tears
by volume, or
the time in between?
The speed of a tear
is a function of
the weight of your pain.
Heartbreak is heavy,
sorrow moves slowly.
Grief lingers.
