life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Opportunity

Morning sky
opens to opportunity.
Try to discover what
can’t be articulated. If
there is a conversation
you’ve been avoiding,
that’s the conversation
you need to have.

Write It Down
Posted on December 27, 2019 by j.g.lewis // 2 Comments

There are those days where getting away from the everyday can be as simple as sitting by yourself and spending some quality time with your journal.
There’s always so much going on, and time spent keeping track of what’s going on can help maintain the balance of sanity and survival.
It is escapism, yes, but it allows you to step into a world that is only yours and write about it as only you can.
In the process you remind yourself, encourage yourself, scold yourself, and amaze your self with your thoughts.
That’s what journaling is, and it doesn’t have to be complicated.
All that is required is a pencil or pen, and some sort of book, diary, notebook, and a little bit of time.
Couldn’t we all use a little more time to ourselves?
Write every damn day. Even if it’s only 10 minutes a day, you will appreciate the world of your words.
If you’ve been thinking about keeping a journal, there is no better time. 2020, a brand new decade, begins in a matter of days. soultalk is offering a free online journaling workshop designed to get you thinking, and writing, and building a daily practice that doesn’t take much time, and is worth every minute.
If you’ve started a journal before, but never seem to be able to keep up with the process (if you’ve starved yourself of time to yourself), now might be a good time to get a little more involved in your life.
Write it down.
Beginning January 1, there will be 20 prompts over 20 days.
They say if you do something for seven days in a row, it becomes habit. Here’s a chance to build a new habit.
The program takes place in a closed Facebook group, with supportive community. There will be tips, reminders, and discussion. It’s fun. It is inspiring, and did I mention it is free?

Come and write with us.
Come and write for your self.

Write on.
