a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Beyond Appearances
Posted on February 8, 2020 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

Our belief system is as much a foundation, as it is façade.
How you act, how you react, how you interact with all that surrounds you, is primarily influenced by what you believe.
Beliefs can prop you up, or you can choose to hide behind them.
Beliefs can change and, when they do, you will feel the shift.
Outwardly you may appear stronger, but the foundation can weaken.
  Change happens beyond appearances.

Winter’s Plan
Posted on February 7, 2020 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

A season raises its voice.
February with its unkind ways,
uncertain at first, then sudden
feisty displays. Stubborn.
The past not forgotten and
neither have we, yet ignored
what we know, as history proves
time and again
all we have come to believe.
Speak kindly please, when and
if you can, for this year offers an
additional day of winter’s plan.

the where and the when

create the shapes
begin with your being
to halt is a fault
change is your way
of seeing
what you believe
how you conceive
questions or
the where and the when
the why is unspoken
as patterns are broken
