a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

That Kind Of Day
Posted on September 6, 2020 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

It’s not always the same day
after day, each one holding its
fair share of opportunities or
disappointments. Each day
offers more or less of one or
the other. What you do, or how
you view, any day is as public
as it is personal. Don’t get all
caught up comparing many
yesterdays to the tomorrows
that are ahead; it can simply
take up too much of a day that
might give you needed clarity.
May you have that kind of day.
Enjoy today and tomorrow too.

If we don’t listen,
we will never hear
the unexpected whispers
that come from
unexplained sources.

If we don’t look,
we might not recognize
that which rests
in plain sight
for all to see.

If we don’t speak,
we may never truly realize
the joy of giving voice
to the compelling
thoughts within.

If we don’t confess,
we may never feel
the calm that arrives
with wholehearted
forgiveness.

Unexpected news.
We can only understand
what we prepare for.
