life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Look Ahead

It’s what you do next that
counts. Past performance
matters less and less as the
distance between now and
then widens. Time does that.
While you may be bolstered
or emboldened by steps you
have already taken, your next
moves — and those that will
even surpass the unimaginable
future — are what truly counts.
Take each step wisely. Have
confidence in your direction.
What happens is ultimately
more important than what
happened. Look ahead.

Mondays are just young Fridays

We emerge from darkness.
It is our way, since birth, and a practice we repeat each morning.
Some mornings are darker than others, but nonetheless we emerge.
   We wake.
   We move forward.
There are those days when we don’t want to move, we don’t want to wake, or we feel we’ve done all we can and find comfort in the darkness that has allowed us a little rest, or a little peace, or a little time away from what annoys or disturbs us.
It might even be more noticeable on a Monday?
It may be biology more than geography
No matter where you are, no matter where you have been, or what you have done or what you are thinking, sunlight will find you.
You will see more than you need, perhaps more than you want to, but know
it will get brighter.
It is a pattern, like darkness, and one we require to maintain (or attempt) some sort of balance.
Our circadian rhythm is as much about possibility as it is our sanity.
   Another day. Another chance.
   Another point-of-view.
   Good morning.
