Mythos & Marginalia

life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

We Know. We Feel.

Winter soaks to the marrow
along graffiti-stained alleys
and soulless office towers.
   We know, we feel frost
as it creeps and creaks into
joints of the middle-aged,
the chronic or careless.
   Cold will come tonight; or
tomorrow; now it is what it is,
and you within our climate.
   No mystery. Why or how
is there or now. Perception.
Reality. Reaction. Temperature
drops like market stocks.
   We know. We feel.

Mondays are just young Fridays

Yesterday was a pyjama day.
I had no reason to go outside, and it was to cold to do so anyway, so I enjoyed my cozy pyjamas all day.
I made a good dent in a good book, watched a mediocre mystery movie, and enjoyed a little nap (or two).
Nothing was accomplished and nothing needed to be.
Unplanned, unstructured and underrated, we all need a pyjama day every once in a while.
