a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

what to do

People, generally, do what they
have to do or what they think
they have to do.
Some people are able to do as
they want, while others might
be able to do as they please.
There are a lot of people who
aren’t doing what they are most
capable of doing because they
lack the confidence to do what
they really should be doing.
Too many people have to be
told what to do and, even then,
they still cannot do it.
   Some people are unwilling to
do what is required or do what
what is necessary
   What are you doing?

Today is a day we should not ignore.
A day to the week, with a month
soon to come, a day often unnoticed;
not by everyone.

World Poetry Day is, among other
things, a day to celebrate the written
word, language forgotten, but it
must be heard.

Poetry reflects life, reverberates with
our being. A sense of history, state of
grace, memory or delusion, lesson in
truth in any case.

Step Forward

I often question whether the darkness heals more than it hurts, or if night provides enough rest for the weary.
   Lately, I am tired.
I believe we are all a little run-down right now. The past couple of years have been draining, wearing the psyche right to the soul. Society is hurting. We all feel it.
It seems we have lived a period of prolonged darkness in which the shadow will live with us for quite some time.
We can’t ignore what has happened, or what is happening, but at some point we will have to look past whatever is going on personally if we want to get ahead.
We must emerge from the difficulties and despair of the past and find hope for the future.
Spring is a time of renewal
   Step forward into the light.
