life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

The Only Option

now

It has taken you years to get here.
Where you stand, this is your now.
                  You may feel exhausted,
the journey has been trying, and
you might not know where you are
headed, but going back
is not an option.                    Stand,
even for a moment, and take stock
of where you are. Where you have
been is inconsequential, now.
The past has given you experience,
if not direction, and it will serve you
well, but there is no going back. Not
now. Step forward, the only option
worth considering. This is your now.

enlight1-1

Gratitude, at its finest point, is dignity expressed in the noblest form.
Not words to be taken lightly, a simple thank you — whether quickly offered or accepted — acknowledges a gift or offering of kind words or a gesture. It marks a moment where empathy is shared, compassion expressed, and humility is allowed to shine, however briefly.
Enjoy those simple expressions of thanksgiving, for they show appreciation for your kindness and reflect generosity of the soul.
We all have so much to be thankful for, and, all too often, don’t take enough time to realize where we are, what we have, whom we share it with, and the living grace we experience each day.
  Thank you.
