life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

The Quiet Side
Posted on June 9, 2017 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

You can’t always be a whisper, but you shouldn’t always have to shout.
I created a new Facebook page a few weeks back. Forever destined to be a work in progress, soultalk is quiet and more reflective, or softer, than mythosandmarginalia.com
I’ve been going into the mindful side lately, taking out my journal and catching up with my self. I value journal writing and have had this journaling program concept banging around since the days we were setting up The Urban Howl. When I left TUH I had no place to lay it out, until recently.
Soultalk: The Essence of Self
@soulTALKcommunication
is my new spot.
I started promoting the journaling program yesterday, after an intense week of trying to get some marketing into place, and relying on another mind who knows stuff I had never even considered. The difficult part, philosophically, was getting things ready to scream, when the course subject is more about listening to your self, with some quiet time to think.
Then there is a challenge in setting something up to shout in a social media environment where everybody is yelling. There is a temptation to get even louder, when all I want is quiet (good quiet) in keeping with the gentle tone intended for the program.
I originally wanted to go for “understated”.
I wanted the words to speak for themselves.
I’m not always sure you can do that in this digital domain that requires short and sizzling, with colour and more colour. It’s been a few years since I left marketing, so I I’m going to do a short, personal pitch right here.
This is the softer sell in a harder world.
Without extolling all the features, advantages and benefits of a program I believe is authentic and soul-nourishing, I can confidently state it will add a new dimension to your existing journaling practice, or give you a solid foundation if you are just starting out, or getting back into, writing in a journal.
I know this because the material has been unfolding in my own journals over the past 15 years.

FINDING YOUR VOICE
MAKING THE CHOICE

Including an early bird discount (24 days for 24 bucks).

If you have questions, I encourage you to email me through the link above.
In addition to my time-tested journal practice, I will also incorporate tips and tricks I have learned through almost 15 years as a journalist.
I can also tell you I’ll be going through the program alongside the participants. It is my way of staying engaged, the same way I have worked when moderating any number of writing courses over past years.
Beginning June 30, FINDING YOUR VOICE/MAKING THE CHOICE is a great way to kick off the second-half of the year. The days are longer and there is a little more time for your self.
With all this shouting going on, it is difficult to get a question in; but if you look to the self you can often find some answers.

Finding Your Voice/Making The Choice

Progress is a process.

What you write, why you write, and the way you write in your journal will change over time, but this itself is a true reflection of who you are.

Journaling is a personal journey, a written account of your life as it evolves—and you along with it.

It is time for present-day reflection, for planning where you will go, and recording where you have been.

(Write Now!)

FINDING YOUR VOICE/MAKING THE CHOICE is a journaling program that will work…

…wherever you find yourself in this life.

Explore, through this 24-day guided online forum, the W5 of the self, healing and feeling, breathing and believing.

And discover more reasons to continue the process of journaling.

FINDING YOUR VOICE/MAKING THE CHOICE will lead you through the process…

Daily prompts

Inspiration

Advice

Delivered throughout the day, every day.

And…

You will connect with a community of like-minded soul seekers who are sharing the journey with you.

As you progress through FINDING YOUR VOICE/MAKING THE CHOICE you will discover more…

In your own words…

You will reveal your Self.

A journal teaches you what you are interested in, and where your attention goes—particularly after you’ve been at it for a while—recording, remembering, memorizing and romanticizing people, places and events.

Engaging the psyche and thinking beyond.

Do you have time?

Yes.

This program has been developed so the prompts and information will come to you with regularity, each day, throughout the day.

When and where you will interact with the group forum, and the material itself, is up to you.

FINDING YOUR VOICE is there for you, all you need to do is MAKE THE CHOICE.

24 minutes a day…

24 days…

A ritual of Self that will last a lifetime.

Write Now. Write Here.
