life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

those other days

are all behind you

today is now

tomorrow can be as well

don’t rush it

enjoy each sip

Limiting, or disallowing, emotions
is, in effect, blocking your
windpipe and trying to breathe
through the pores of your skin.
Heaven knows it may be possible,
but you will waste away
attempting to find out.
A struggle, at first;
your heartbeat will hasten and
blood pressure heightens, but you
will not sustain yourself without
oxygen, or joy, jealousy
or empathy.
No emotions. No virtues.
No life.
Open your heart
and breathe.

Mixed Message

Uncertainty. Reality blurs
certain rumour and fact.
Confusion transcends
illusion. Deciphering
endless excuses an
all-consuming task.
Nobody knows.
Everybody asks,
Need to believe greater
than a will to forget.
Illusion of confusion.
Denial. Acceptance
Mixed message mayhem,
a convenient mask.
We listen to talk, but
fail to look to see.
Everybody is present,
yet it is nobody’s past.
