Month: October 2018
Today there is presence,
with tomorrow, again,
the distance.
The range between the
then and now
is easier somehow
knowing
there will be
a next time.

Time: it happens as it does, as it will, as it always has. Take what you can and try to shy away from the difficulties and disappointments. In those meaningful moments, suck all you can from the marrow, leaving enough goodness for the next time (and the time after that). Anticipation. We need something to look forward to, and it is often the next time.

Have you hammered out
the time-honoured dents
from cosmic collisions,
covered up the rust and
body scrapes of incidental
accidents, and washed
the bug splatter off your
cracked windshield?
Is your karma clean?
How’s it looking ahead?
Glancing in the rear view
mirror won’t do you, or
anyone, and good. Those
miles are all behind you.
Be gentle with yourself,
be kind to others, help
out when you can.
Drive on. You’ll get a
little further doing right
than righting wrongs.
