life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Silent Night

“Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright. . .”

A timeless melody, a meditative
lyric first performed 200 years ago.
A favorite. Always.

Blessings for today and beyond.
I hope all is calm in your world.

“Sleep in heavenly peace.”

Mondays are just young Fridays

It’s the feeling,
and it arrives each year.
It is never the same, but
is there, for those who believe.
You may catch the spirit early,
or it may just come upon you
tonight or tomorrow. . .
you know it when you feel it.
It changes as you grow older,
move about the planet, or in
the way you celebrate with
friends or family.
You change with it.
Embrace the change, enjoy
the feelings and emotions
that come along with it.
I wish you peace + love.

Hold On
Posted on December 23, 2018 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

Each tear, each fear, every
vulnerability, expressed or
denied, is a reminder
we are all human.
We are fragile, we are flawed;
remorseful, stubborn, smart,
confused, yet coherent.
Anger. Love.
Sadness. Surprise.
Disgust. Envy.
Our emotions, when it
comes right down to it, are
what holds it all together,
even when it feels everything
is falling apart.
We are fragile, yet,
even through our apparent
weaknesses, we are powerful.
This allows us to make it
through another day.
Hold on.
You can get through
anything and everything
life throws at you.
