a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Express Yourself

Your voice gives power
to your thoughts and
purpose to your presence.
Your voice let’s others know
who you are, where you are,
and what you see.
To go through life in silence
will rob you of expression,
experience, and even your
dignity.
We are all here, we all have
a purpose. Express yourself.
Use your voice.
If you don’t speak out,
who will speak up for you?

         Today
      is what we have
  This is who we are
Now is where
                       we are
Let’s make
            the most of it
Now
         Today

night thoughts 2:13
Posted on December 14, 2018 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

Conceivably we expect too much,
or wait too long, as we hope to
see stardust, or heavenly showers,
that will not be. Too many clouds,
or a little fog, with irresponsibly
stray light from the city below
eliminating visibility. The promise
of nocturnal magic at 2:13 fully
reduced to intense imagination
and a slight smile from the Moon.
A couple of stars standing rigidly
in space is about all I know, or
what I end up seeing. But I hope,
I will keep on believing, our sky
is full of nighttime mystery.
