a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Mondays are just young Fridays

We are too easily reminded
of this tragedy; of the
infections, deaths,
and ignorance
every day.
It is there for all to see,
anywhere you look.

The numbers raise doubt.
The statistics create fear.
What we know
is questioned.
Everything we learn is tested.

Can we see past
what is ahead?
Can we settle on
something else instead?
There is beauty everywhere;
if you take the time to look.

Find the time today.

Central Destination

I miss my weekend mornings at the coffee shop.
I miss beginning the day early, my own way, and letting time unfold as it should.
I miss the central destination and neighbourhood feel.
I miss getting caught up in conversation with friendly strangers, or sharing a newspaper without thinking of the danger.
I miss the constant din of idle chatter and opinion, anecdote, and details that matter.

Within You

It is within you.
Surpassing will, well
beyond ego, is a
power that cannot
be explained or
exemplified, though
it is always there.
Deep inside, beneath
the skin, bone, and
muscle, is a greater
force than you may
ever know; yet you
will have difficulty
determining where
it comes from.
It is there.
We can aspire to
create our dreams,
but to do so we
need to access a
deeper strength.
Set your intention.
See where you go.
