a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Mondays are not just young Fridays

A shorter week with a little less structure meant I got less accomplished than I had intended last week.
With no real schedule, and few obligations to anyone but myself, progress is more difficult to define when you have less demands on your time.
Now I look back on how I did, or what I did.
What did I do?
I got things organized and in place (as best as a Gemini can) and I did more research than was required, and I came a bit closer to outlining something maybe only my self can understand, but by the end of the week it felt like little more than procrastination.
I am now looking at a new week with the same project. It is time to get a better start on something that already has a beginning.
It is time to make it happen.
You take on a different view, when you know you have things to do.

Deeply Divergent

How will, or how can, we see ourselves through this prolonged period of ideological unrest that continues to pull at the fabric of our society?
There will be no compromise in this battle of words, litany of lies, bitter truths and angry cries.
They are always wrong and we are always right; we remain deeply divergent in this continually contentious fight.
But who holds the same view as me. Or you?
It’s not easy to tell.
It is not easy to do.
At what point do we stop trying? Or have we already?

Is Your Karma Clean?
Posted on October 17, 2020 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

Have you hammered out
the time-honoured dents
from cosmic collisions,
covered up the rust and
body scrapes of incidental
accidents, and washed
the bug splatter off your
cracked windshield?
Is your karma clean?
How’s it looking ahead?
Glancing in the rear view
mirror won’t do you, or
anyone, any good. Those
miles are all behind you.
Be gentle with yourself,
be kind to others, help
out when you can.
Drive on. You’ll get a
little further doing right
than righting wrongs.
