a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

What You Had

mid-winter depression a state of mind
comes with the cold

everything happens as it always has

       you felt it less
   when you were younger

thinking less of who you are
    or what you had
and more of what comes next

     it is surreal
                  a time of the year
when you don’t want to believe
what you were led to doubt

                  days-old snow and salt stains
   suspended
                  as if nothing is happening

                remains of the days
   sediment of continual mistakes

the sentiment of our leftover pain

            with mean-spirited weather
                and the threat of more

                                     there is no warmth

cloud songs

          Curiosity inspires.
     Visions flash,
     sounds sparkle, ignite,
spontaneously combust.

Imagination on impulse,
          intuition essential.

 My attention is fleeting, but
can be held indefinitely
         by shiny objects
                and opportunity.

Big thoughts or simple wishes.

       As a child
    they called me
       a daydreamer
like it was a bad thing.

Mondays are just young Fridays

A wet card in the snow, welcome
words from a stranger. A smile.
The sentiment is appreciated in
trying times. We can all feel it.
“I hope today brings
you a little bit of joy!”
I don’t know anything about
‘the give warmth project’
but I love the message,
Stay warm + stay strong.
