Where have you been and where do you go?

Do you wander
or do you wait?

All alone.

Do you know?

How will you find your way?

a decade of days…

2025 is an anthology of thoughts du jour, unsolicited advice, messages of peace, philosophy, poetry, and photographs from the past decade of Mythos & Marginalia. In unchronological order, the years not as important as the dates, each post a reminder (if only to myself) that I do indeed write every damn day.

this country

Unity, or
diversity,
does not mean
conformity.
Each of us owns
hopes
and dreams;
they belong to us
individually, just as
we all belong
to this country.
Our views are
different,
but this country
is the
common bond.
Celebrate
where we are
and
who we are.
Accept
the differences
in yourself
and others.
We all share
the same sky.
Happy Canada Day.

as you can, when you can

June ends today.
  July will unfold with its timely splendor, but August is waiting in the shadows.
The days have already grown shorter, slightly, each day with less and less sunlight.
  Daylight only lasts so long.
  And that’s how it happens; summer can easily slip away.
  Make the most of it, as you can, when you can.
  Make a picnic out of each meal possible. Select local vegetables and fruit as it comes into season.
  Savour each bite of a watermelon, for the sweet succulent fruit will only quench parched throats for so long.
  Ride your bicycle a little slower; take in the sights, and the sounds, of summer. Should you pass swiftly by all that surrounds you, you will only come to a stop and realize autumn is whispering in your ear.
  Enjoy your summer days. This time is short. Make the memories as you can, when you can.

a quiet reminder
that time is just
what it is.
Enjoying small moments
better prepares you
for the big challenges
that come your way.

wonder awaits

What will it take to
believe in your self?
What will it take to
believe in others?
We are all human.
We all have something
to do, or something to
prove; what is stopping
you?
What’s holding you back?
Look within. You need to
accept your limitations
(all subject to change),
but more so, you will need
to accept your capabilities.
We can all do more than we
think we can. Acceptance
takes understanding of who
we are and the powers we
all hold. We are human.
Try to understand.
Try. Keep trying.
Wonder awaits.

A shifting shadow, the curious
moon, drop of rain resting on a
gentle leaf, a song or sound
from a passing car, laughter
caught in the night’s slight
breeze. Exacting opportunities
like these just happen. Naturally.
Sometimes it’s the
simple things that inspire.
Be moved. All day you’ve been
waiting for this moment. Now.
Create when you can.

that make memories,
the time with family
and friends.
You don’t always get
as much time
as you’d like, so make
the most of the time have.

what is important;
where you were, and
who you we with.
