a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

The Father they speak of accepts
                                the scent, custom or tradition,
                                                     of burnt offerings

                    incense                                   incensed

                               God shall know
                                 thou shall not

                                   confuse disclosures

             ‘Father, I have sinned’
             common confession
                       for those who

                                do not understand

                                    a candle lit
                                    provides protection from the flame

                                   Evil ways

          cast no doubt
          on disbelievers

                      The silent thereafter hangs
                       as smoke above an alter
                       I know so little about

certain days

This fourth day of this
fourth month, in any other week
would seem out of place amidst
numbers ascending. Dates and
months flowing by, time naturally
occurring as daybreak will shift
to a darkened sky. Gradually.
We keep track of certain days
simply by living them.
Today’s date will last only as
long as we appreciate, instead
of calculate, our remaining days.

April is Poetry Month
each day counts

Mondays are just young Fridays

April is Poetry Month, a celebration as much as a challenge.
A month of finding words, matching emotions to the circumstance on my daily life.
It is personal.
It is questionable.
What can be accomplished by specific moments randomly observed? Observations only, I take note mindfully. Each day becomes an exercise in fulfillment.
Is it enough?
