Month: October 2023
Rest your eyes and stop looking for what is not there.
Allow your mind to settle on what is sure, available, and good for you.
It is difficult, at times, to see beyond the confusion of what is not there.
It is difficult, at times, to accept what is available.
Find clarity.
Look for all that is visible.
At times we need to remove our glasses and shut our eyes to truly see what is important.

with random words
incautiously chosen
graffiti
staining the façade
of our everyday view
peace
love faith
unity
like poetry
nothing is how it seems
not now
only words
we must question
what each one means
despite our feelings
how can we not believe
everything we read

now, which direction to flow when
brittle leaves decide they are done.
Symptoms of the season; shame
rolls its eyes again late in October.
Chilled winds push life away along
with cautiously expected rains.
Disorder begins all the same as
last year and before. Again. The pain.
What happens next with all the rest?
Bottled up emotions will only heal
under winter’s weight or cruelly
become forgotten. Like flowers.
