a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

day-to-day life

Success is subjective.
How we measure ‘success’ varies at each point of a life. Everyone judges success differently: financially, professionally, artistically, spiritually and morally.
How one interprets success can be as challenging as how you construe a horoscope, a poem, or bible passage. Clarification is not always obvious, or apparent, in day-to-day living.
   What is success?
   What is sustainable?
What is routine to some can become a rut to somebody else. Perhaps sticking to my own practice or pursuit is success enough?
My horoscope always gives me something to think about.

mindful movement

I will change my perspective as often as my shoes, but my intentions are the same.
I keep moving forward, each step bringing me closer to some sort of satisfaction, or goal, or closure.
This is mindful movement.
My perception allows me to realize all that is good and what needs to be altered.
I intend to remain on this path.

For Now

Darkness not always geographically obvious,
although you can determine details.
Full Moon hangs a little closer,
its availability secure for a couple of days.
Appreciated.
A chimney gasps into a prairie chill,
time-honoured tall trees only a shadow, before
slight snow dusts rooftops like icing sugar.
Simple memories of childhood.
A landscape I once knew so well.
I have been here before.
Familiarity is quite apparent.
You cannot call it comfort, for that takes time;
more time than I have. For now.
Only the night knows where you have been.
Ever the night shows what you have known.
I felt I belonged, and I will return.
For longer.
