a decade of days…

2025 is an anthology of thoughts du jour, unsolicited advice, messages of peace, philosophy, poetry, and photographs from the past decade of Mythos & Marginalia. as sure as today

What are you putting off
until the time is right?

Tomorrow is coming
as sure as today arrived.

Why are you waiting?

certainty

As sure as daylight
    the Sun will rise.

At night, with the same certainty,
               the Moon will shine.

   The time
between now and then
   remains uncertain.

     Enjoy as much of it
                    as you can.

august

July dives in, clothes and all,
brash and unafraid of his being.
His time is careless, rushed, and
often leaves whisker burn on
a lover’s face.
August is more tentative.
Gently she slips off her socks,
dips a toe, and tests the water.
She knows days will grow shorter,
temperatures cooler,
and the night quieter.
August is mindful of more time
for fireflies, skinny dipping, and
seductive whispers.
August will always leave
with a tender embrace, promising
to return.
Cherish your time with August.
July has already forgotten
what you meant.

the influence of art

One ought — in these days of disease and deception, wanton greed and calculated corruption — to be able to step aside and rediscover what life is all about.
Caught up in the noise, the rhetoric and nonsensical sensibilities, we should each find time, however swift and fleeting, to allow art to influence our nature; and being. And grace.
Create your own solace in the midst of this madness.
Take responsibility for your self.
Be mindful, if only for a moment, of what art is there, and what it can do for you.
You are better off in knowing.

you matter

We all forget, sometimes,
to care for the one person
who shows up day after day.
In all the confusion we
overlook what matters.
All too often we get so
caught up in the actions and
emotions of those around us,
that we neglect to check in
with our self.
Try harder today to please
yourself. You deserve better
than what you have been
allowing. Be kind. You matter.
