2015 – 2025: a decade of days

  • worthy blessings

It is only natural to question how friendships are formed, and why.

Time has as much to do with affinity, as does presence. Empathy and understanding are among common thought. Even, without notice, we learn and live through the eyes of a kindred spirit.

Friendship needs not be complex or complicated, it is simply there.

Important is it to be as good a friend as those we are graced with.

Life provides us with worthy blessings. All things considered, there may not be an explanation, or even a reason to find one.We simply feel a gratitude, every day and year, even when we are not around to acknowledge the colour a friend brings to our landscape over time.

Whatever the reason, a solid friendship will outlast the seasons.

  • Mondays are just young Fridays

Our vision is not always clear, or perfect, or comfortable.

What we see, all we believe (even the random questionable dialogue that interrupts considerable thought) adds up to our authentic life philosophy.

It changes over time, as interim as it is, and contributes to well-being and mental health (as dubious as that may be).

Life lessons, often in the form of unsolicited advice, impact our perception. Human is what we are — as flawed as that may be — and we all contribute something to the world that surrounds us, wherever we are (and that changes as well).

Our ideas and imagination — the boundless curiosity of it all — are strengthened as we permit ourselves to indulge in practices and pastimes that continue to expand our range of emotion, as overwhelming and unpredictable as they may be.

It is not always logical, or certain, or plausible, but it is our will that will take us through what needs to be done, even if it is not something we are fully conscious of.

Growth, in any direction, is both meaningful and magnificent on any given day. Think about it today and every day.

Look. Look deeper. Take your time to go inside; it is our internal thought that mainly controls our being.

Slow down. Don’t rush. What we want to accomplish, as questionable as it is, needs time to develop. We are only human, but it is not that kind of race.

  • common knowledge

You may not notice as they pass, but events or excuses affect you over time.

       What has happened has happened.

Lucid reminders stay with us; a hangover of sorts. Our common knowledge is a byproduct of accumulated wisdom, or lack of such.

Mistakes are made — at times too obviously — uncalculated or without conciliation, but eventually become learning opportunities.

Today’s concerns are often the consequence of yesterday’s behaviour.

       What have you learned?

How will it determine your future?

  • indelible

It’s not always pretty, or perfect, or profound, yet each time your pencil graces the page, it leaves a mark.
You leave behind a little bit of yourself.
Thoughts are indelible; images are permanent, though the pencil is not. Even if erased, memories and moments, or meanings remain, even if only in your mind.
Don’t be afraid of tarnishing the page. Let out what is inside. Be proud of what you feel and what you want to show in the moment.
       Make a mark.

  • a deeper look

You need to look closely at what is there.

    Observation takes time.

Only a trace of what remains will remind you, again, how it began and why you started.

We look at our actions differently as life moves forward; we must.

A disappointment one day becomes an accomplishment the next. Each step brings a little more advancement yet, at times, you just have to stop and take a deeper look at what is in front of you.

Look past all that has passed. Progress is part of the process.

It can be quite humbling. You may need to remind yourself why.
