    It is never too soon

    to take notice of

    an early-rising moon.

    Ever closer to its

    fuller phase, Luna

    holds a charm in

    her certain ways.

    Always a gift,

    if you choose to

    lift your eyes.

    An everyday evening,

    still quite a surprise.

  • fundamental function

    Intelligence and intellectuality,

    a consciousness of our reality.

    Clarity.

    Perspicacity, mental reception

    or sensory perception, emotions

    consequential

    to daily expression of thoughts

and being, lay within our mind.

    Two percent

of a body’s mass; small in size

and stature, a human brain has

    greater efficiency

    than we consider thinking about.

    Involved in; no, responsible for

    everything we do.

    Neurons and neurotransmitters

    affect fundamental function and

    well being

    far beyond our mental health.

Grey matter. And matter it does.

    How we think,

feel, react or behave, the mystery

or magic of the cerebrum is tested

    daily. Now,

then, and again, and again. Always.

    Anxiety, depression, joy and pain,

    deeper thoughts

    hidden inside memory and minutes

    contained within the human brain.

    Believe.

  • clandestine thoughts

    Secrecy and salvation,

    rarely one in the same.

    We seek pleasure where

    we ought not to, purge

    clandestine thoughts into

    ears we should not trust;

    because we are where

    we shouldn’t be.

    Unknowingly,

    we will cry tomorrow

    for the sins of today.

Once a habit, it is their way.

    Now. How many times

    have you forgiven someone,

    even yourself?

    Do you not remember, or

    even notice, words wasted

    in spite of it all.

    Tell me about pain,

it’s been years since I have

    even noticed how it feels

    to feel like that.

    I cannot know relief, not

    like I used to. Sadly,

    it remains a secret.

  • Mondays are just young Fridays

           Most of us look,

some of us see, less of us believe.

       Division and derision

    commonplace across our land;

    perpetrators rarely understand

    we will not buy

    what they are selling.

           Already we struggle

with thoughts bought and sold to

    the lowest common denominator.

       Do not heed mixed messages

hidden in the stories they are telling.

Most of us say nothing, some of us

less, not enough of us speak up.

       Staying silent costs too much.

           Think for your self.

  • “We are what we see. We are

    products of our surroundings.”

                                                        -Amber Valletta

    What do you see?

    What do you feel?

    What do you believe?

    This environment, this day,

    your choice, your way.

    Surround yourself with

    simple comforts and

    allow your mood

    to improve.
