Mythos & Marginalia

2015 – 2025: a decade of days

a daily breath

  • 12/22/2023

Coming out of the darkness, each
day now will glow a little brighter.
There is comfort in knowing what
    you are leaving behind.
It may take awhile before we feel
    the ramifications and repercussions,
it might take even longer to truthfully
    acknowledge your own time.
Be kind with yourself. Allow all the
    benefits to emerge organically; you
simply can’t rush a natural evolution

  • Mondays are just young Fridays

Time to get away from the congestion of this city.
I am going on a road trip, an adventure so to say, for more than a couple of days.
I’ll be returning, in a way, to a place I have not been for quite a while. I haven’t driven this route since I made my way here almost ten years ago and will be going back as close to home as I have been in a long stretch. There I will find family and friends. I will be welcoming good weather, open roads, peace and love.
       It’s time.

  • somewhere

    A sidewalk only takes you
where you want to go. There is
    no preordained direction, it
goes both ways and is available
to anyone and their dog. Watch
where you step, be conscious of
puddles, and the stepping on the
    crack thing is wholly subjective.
It’s totally up to you, which path
you follow, or even if you want to
walk on the grass. Exercise your
rights, but, by all means, exercise.
Move at your own speed, and
please share the space; we are all
    going somewhere and the journey
is far more enjoyable if everyone
    remains respectful of everyone else.

    Free speech or censorship?
         Words denied,
         what will you accept?
    Meaning or moral,
the mistake of it all, to
    resist, refrain from, even
                       deny the call.
    Tempers explode, ideals persist,
not once for a moment do the
         culprits see the gist
                of the message.
       Minds blocked by hate, after
         the fact, peace is erased
            as simple as that.

  • Mondays are just young Fridays

We can’t always roam where we want, or travel where we need to go.
Our destination, at times, is uncertain. The path we are on is not always clear. Roadblocks and detours, access denied or prohibited, alternate routes, even our speed is dictated or controlled.
We are all just trying to find our way.
We all need to get somewhere.
Patience is often required as we try to keep moving forward.
       Where will you go today?
