a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Disparaging comments,
insults or innuendo,
claims against my name,
I hear them. Feel no shame.
I know my worth,
are you certain of yours?
What you say
says so much.
Hear what I’m saying?

Graffiti,
now, like poetry, it means
what you want it to mean.
You might not notice

Forget Or Forgot

You continue trying
to forget, and
in time you may,
yet still it keeps
haunting you
day after day?

What do you
remember
again and again?
A shadow of doubt
or whisper of shame?
Think about it?

It’s one of those things
you were so sure
you forgot, but you
but you didn’t or
you can’t
erase your thoughts.

That Which We Will
Posted on November 15, 2020 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

What we know and
what we believe are
entirely different things.
What we want to believe
and that which we will
varies with time and
understanding, or what
we actually know.
We know so little and
want to know so much,
Or do we?
What do you believe?
