a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Wake Up

Do you travel freely
from one mental state
to another?
Without compromise,
or contempt for
a momentary lapse
of judgement,
can you honestly say
you woke this morning
without motive?

Like This Day

Sixteen times per minute,
twenty-two thousand breaths
in a day. No time
like the present.
There are no other excuses, but
there are always other ways.
Breathe. Choose today
to speak up when you can,
push out the latent sorrow,
guilt, and anguish
only you can understand.
Inhale. There is no life, no
oxygen, like this day. Despite
our selected perceptions,
there is not a
single breath to waste.

Look Closer

How do we listen
above all the voices?
What provides the light
allowing us to see choices?
We might have to look closer
at what captures our sight.
It comes with the silence,
it arrives with the night.
