a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

You can accept all that
is going on in life,
as it is or as it was, or
you can effect change.
It is a choice,
and it begins as you
begin each day.
It begins with you.
We can repeat mistakes
and the errors of our ways,
day after day, or
dig a little deeper and
improve upon that which
comes our way.
You can wake up and
do it again, or get up
and do it right.
It is your choice.

Lest We Forget

“We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.”

-John McCrae

Speak Out

I don’t have to shout
to fill the space I occupy.
There is a lot of room, and
even the slightest whisper
will acknowledge my
contribution or intentions.
Speak out, speak up.
Don’t be silent.
