a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Another Good Day
Posted on June 12, 2020 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

Today will be exactly
what it is: another day.
We have many days in
a year and more in a
lifetime, so it is really
an inordinately small
amount of time in the
grand scheme of things.
But today, like yesterday,
or tomorrow (or even
last Monday) should be
acknowledged for the
day it is or day it will be.
Today is a good day to
have a good day, and I
am going to do exactly
that; I think you should
too. It’s Friday, almost
the weekend, so it’s truly
a good day for a good day
(and tomorrow too).
deep peace.

Of Context

Let them speak
those who know
and them who couldn’t
even a whisper of
ignorance
has value
If we can learn
If we can listen
We all need to hear
other voices of context
of colour or circumstance
so unfamiliar to
our own experience
that we are at first
uncomfortable
Only then will we change

Each Of Us

If you tell me your name
             you tell me a history,
   abbreviated yes, but one
of decisions, dates and
       moments of significance
I know nothing about.
I too leave a shadow.
    My fears may be different
or diluted; this life treats us in ways
   nobody else would imagine,
                          or understand.
        Each of us
    will have questions
   We will always have questions.
It is human to want to know and learn,
    and listen.
If you tell me your name
            I will tell you mine.
Then we will be equal
    and available to continue
           the conversation.
