july heat
emotional drought
no wherewithal
no where without
an oppressive breeze
commanding so much
of your will
barely breathing
standing still
wilting in between
what must be done
and all you can’t
merciless sun
painful at times
temperatures deny
any sleep at night
no rest no rain
no relief in sight
