life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

all my flaws

Who can you blame?
Are the feelings unjust when a decision is a matter of knowing you must find fault or favour with the ill winds of change?
It is never enough to simply rearrange plans or predicaments. It is like making a prediction of all my flaws with my faith as fractured or fragile as it is, or has been.
Far easier to see what I haven’t been doing.

Mondays are just young Fridays

We tire of unpredictable weather, the damp morning chill, wet socks and lost mittens. Winter keeps reminding it is not through with us.
   We have suffered long enough.
The streets are tired and dirty and the time change only makes things darker in the morning.
   We need a brighter view.
We need, now, the renewal that comes with spring.

action

Progress comes less from planning than participation.
Dreams and wishes require action and attention.
Start moving.

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Each Page Has A Purpose

Posted on September 19, 2020 by j.g.lewis Leave a comment

Each day is a blank page. Not all of them are the same. Some days the ink flows, other days we spend more time correcting mistakes. Sometimes there is more space, sometimes it is darker. All too often it is ruled.
Each page has a purpose. Every day has a purpose. It is important to fill it up.
  Make it meaningful.
  Today is new page.
  Write on.

Are you looking for inspiration for your journal?
soultalk is offering a
free online journaling workshop
October 1 – 11
In addition to daily journal prompts, there will be discussion in a closed (but open-minded) group, along with ideas, insight, and examples on breathing new life into your journaling practice.
Whether you have been journaling for years, have let the habit slip, or are simply starting out, a soultalk online session will add a little more clarity to your personal writing practice.
The free program is open to, pretty much, everyone.
All you need is a journal or notebook, pen or pencil, and a little time each day to think and write.
Come On Home
will run in conjunction with Mythos & Marginalia’s Homecoming Month, where a talented group of humans from across the globe have been invited to share their thoughts on home.
If you are interested in taking part in Come on Home, or need more information, send an email to soultalk@mythosandmarginalia.com
