Mythos & Marginalia

life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Enlight1

Innocence bathes each shadow

the spaces in-between

Quiet
save gentle birdsong
morning shades senses with
an untranslatable comfort
Mind awash
with appreciation
for what is and
all it may be
This is the now
we have dreamt upon
the moment we wake
the day
we paint shadows and

the spaces between

Substance full of light and
authenticity
the soul is both
a canvas and a palette
Spirit moves
in wide swaths or
provides delicate accents of
hope
confidence
and forgiveness

Embrace change
as you do history         family
and honesty
Your thoughts
breath                   and being
full of kindness
compassion  and  creativity

What colour
will you be
today?

Left With Thoughts

I always do the right thing,
consistently I try to deal
with life’s perplexities, but
seldom question why.
Adapt or accommodate, it
may take a while longer, yet
I tolerate. Obstructions
and random barriers always
come into play, difficulties
are quite organic, built-in
so they say. It’s by design
and there is a will and
certainly a certain way.
Rising up each morning on
the right side of the bed,
the slightest irritation won’t
stop all that lies ahead.
Nothing will prevent me
from exploring what
is mine, conscious of my
direction, left with thoughts
bordering on sublime.
Often accused of backwards
thinking, it’s quite the
opposite I suggest. My style
is more open-minded and
frequently put to the test. I’m
counter to conformity, it’s the
way I am and have always
been. I surrender to my
passions, but don’t retreat
when a white flag is unfurled.
It’s my left-handed logic
in a right-handed world.
