a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

cloud songs

What of today, tomorrow

or next week?

   What about the weary,

the impoverished, and the meek?

   What becomes the answer or

the validation that you seek?

who would know

Dissemination of information

fast and furious. Daily, hourly,

minute by minute, it accounts

for our perception, rightly or

wrongly.

   Who would know the truth?

   Who should know the truth?

   Ask me.

If I am not a liar, then I am

not a man.

   How will I know questions

from the answers?

It is not multiple choice, but

there are many versions of

what you need to know.

   If only you would ask.

Mondays are just young Fridays

What is it now that has you questioning the why and how?

We can, and we should, question our thoughts or plans, even our direction. It is only natural to wonder if our path is moving the right way, or if we should be choosing some other route.

There is a lot to absorb along the way, there always was. Do we pay enough attention now, or did we ever? What have we ignored or looked over?

   What didn’t we see?

   What needs to be revisited?

We can’t always take it in stride.

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Tomorrows Come

yesterday
        today
was
tomorrow

I had many things to do

                              things I had put off
consciously or
unconsciously       it mattered not
I was determined to get them
done
one         (or all of them)
by
one
done      today

when it was tomorrow

it seemed easier
it seemed manageable
it seemed as if there would

be time
when today
was tomorrow

yet as tomorrow came,
       as it always does
       as yesterday lost hold of
the hours and
                            its way
and tomorrow just happened
anyway

it seemed                                                 as if

time had passed me by
as if a day;
today or any day
slipped off the calendar
falling like a rose petal or
disgraced politician
into the basket of days misspent
or wasted

days which promised more
but delivered less

tomorrows do that
they never quite live up to
today

and all too often
become a yesterday
