Bring me a pencil from
your travels,
so I may fill this empty space
with words I may express
were you here.
A pencil can fill a void,
pressing
thoughts tenderly into paper
so eyes more weary than mine
can see.
Broken or dull, any pencil
will do,
all can be sharpened to make
a point, and every
one has a story.
The pencil says a lot about
wherever
you have been, or what you have
been through. Honesty
always leaves a mark.
